Egg Roulette Champion Crowned!

July 9, 2009

In a game of ‘Egg Roulette’ in Boston, Lancashire, 30 year old Terri De-Ath was crowned champion after smashing seven hard boiled eggs against her head as part of the competition at the World Egg Throwing Championships in the village of Swaton.

In another event George Watson and Joe Spencer, from Sleaford, managed to throw and catch an egg over a distance of 47 metres.

Egg Roulette consists of hard boiling a number of eggs as well as keeping some soft, and getting to the same temperature before the game begins.  The eggs are then placed in a basket which is passed around a group of people - as you can guess smashing a soft egg against your head is classed as a loser, ib the same way as finding a bullt would be in Russian Roulette.  If you get a hard boiled egg, then you remain in the Egg Roulette game.

February 27, 2009

A news article has appeared on the Pittsburgh Tribune Review site about plans to install electronic roulette machines in the Meadows Racetrack and Casino.  Table games are illegal in Pennsylvania, and Meadows is hoping that by using electronic versions of the game rather than the traditional human dealt tables they will be able to circumvent the law.  The state’s Gaming Control Board has ruled that the games are classified as slot machines, and are therefore legal to install, but some legal experts are not so sure.
